British Dance Edition 2008
The biggest British dance showcase on the calendar is back, this time in Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008!
We at Merseyside Dance Initiative (MDI) are delighted to be hosting BDE 08 on behalf of The Association of National Dance Agencies (ANDA).

We are presenting a range of dance that is aesthetically challenging and visually exciting; work that pushes new boundaries, demonstrates honesty, purpose and has a rebellious streak. We wanted to present work that is edgy and quirky and interacts with its audience.

Rough and Ready, a series of works in progress also features in the programme, along with workshops, breakfasts, conversation and debate. Dance For Camera is a 90 minute programme of new shorts from British artists including an Artist in Focus session with Alex Reuben, curated by South East Dance. The popular networking receptions are accompanied by a BDE Club (The Geisha Bar) to help the mingling process and there will be plenty of time to socialise. The newly structured Trade Fair will take place at the dramatic and beautiful St George’s Hall and we also have a fringe event which takes place around the city.

BDE 2008 - a festival, a marketplace and a celebration!
