St. George's Hall was opened this year by HRH the Prince of Wales, after a magnificant facelift that has restored this neo-classical jewel. Considered by many to be the best room in the building, the Concert Room regularly hosted Charles Dickens and his readings. This 480 seat venue features elegant decoration in white, honey and cream, and a cast iron 'wicker-work' balcony supported by female figures known as caryatids. A superb crystal chandelier hangs in the middle of the room, and Ravehead mirrors at the back of the stage create stunning reflections.
